MOVEMENT CG SM-1809

CG SM-1809

The Signature Mystérieuse® evokes the incomparable talent in mechanical art of the House of Charles Girardier. It’s much more than just a monogram: it’s a tribute to the legacy of Charles Girardier dit “Girardier L’ainé”, the Master Watchmaker, bringing to life animated scenes of breathtaking beauty.

This exceptional caliber is composed of 308 meticulously assembled components, each contributing to its unparalleled precision and performance. The finishes pay true homage to exceptional craftsmanship: the bridges and the main plate are grained and hand-polished, revealing a subtle and refined brilliance.

The automatic winding by peripheral rotor ensures a constant energy supply, allowing this mechanical masterpiece to beat with remarkable regularity. And to top it all off, a flying tourbillon majestically presides at 6 o’clock, defying the laws of gravity and enhancing the aesthetics of this exceptional timepiece.

Our collaboration with the Timeless manufacture has allowed us to create a unique complication based on a flying tourbillon movement with automatic winding by a peripheral mass. The automatic winding provides the desired comfort to the wearer without adding thickness (thinkness of 8.43 mm)
and maintains a clear view of the movement thanks to this bidirectional mass evolving at the periphery of the movement. The special feature of the winding system developed by Timeless is a unique ball bearing, making it a first in this type of mechanism. The movement’s decoration is refined, with bridges highlighted by traditional hand-crafted graining using the application of silver powder (frost gilt). The hand-executed bevelling on the barrel bridge and the tourbillon bridge adheres to all the codes of Geneva Haute Horlogerie.

This caliber features a double complication:

At 6 o’clock, a flying tourbillon enhanced by a tourbillon cage. The tourbillon completes one revolution per minute.

At 12 o’clock, the Signature Mystérieuse® – an automaton – showcases the Charles Girardier logo
with the intertwined “C&G” on two elements pivoting on an axis. The energy required for this ballet
is provided by a dedicated oscillating weight for this complication, concealed beneath the dial. With each movement of the wrist, kinetic energy will move the two elements in opposite directions, ultimately returning to the initial position when the wrist is tilted for time reading.
